On the 18th of May, 2004, Christine Woelk finished her work shift at the Leamington District Memorial Hospital.  She then visited a friend in the Oak Street area and was later seen in her van travelling west on Oak Street.  There was a man in the passenger seat of the van and they seemed to be arguing.  This was the last time that Christine was seen alive.
One week later, Christine`s body was found on Black Willow Beach in the Point Pelee National Park.  She had not been sexually assaulted and her body showed no signs of trauma.  Police have been unable to pinpoint the exact cause of death.
Christine`s vehicle was found five days earlier parked between seasonal cottages on Point Pelee Drive, about four km from town. There was evidence found inside the van pointing to a violent struggle.
