A New Way to Submit Tips!

On Monday, February 19th, we officially launched our new tip taking software here at Windsor & Essex County Crime Stoppers. Working with the Canadian Crime Stoppers Assosiation, we have switched to P3 Globle Intel to handle our tip management going forward.

P3 is an industry leader in tip management and will allow us to be able to provide a smoother experience, with more options for communication than ever before. We are very excited to rollout these benefits to the residents of Windsor & Essex County.

As with any major rollout, there will be some growing pains. In the office, we are working hard to ensure that the experience remains as smooth as possible. The biggest difference that you will notice rightaway will be the online submission portal. Either linking from our website or visiting www.p3tips.com, you will be greeted with a much more robust tip taking tool. Please check it out.

Going forward, we will introduce new ways to submit a tip, some of which are live right now, including the P3 App for both Apple and Android. Watch for more details and announcements soon!

Again, we are working very hard to ensure this transition is smooth. Please let us know if you have any questions, comments and/or concerns.

Lakeshore Partners with Crime Stoppers

January is Crime Stoppers Month and the Town of Lakeshore has partnered with Crime Stoppers to encourage members of the community to provide anonymous information to assist the police to solve crime.

The Town will be placing stickers on the bumpers of municipal vehicles with the telephone number to call Crime Stoppers.  Municipal vehicles are constantly on the road and travel throughout Lakeshore making them the perfect mobile advertisers.

Operating the only non-profit charity dedicated to assisting solve and reduce crime in Windsor/Essex, Crime Stoppers created the bumper sticker as a public awareness campaign.

Crime Stoppers has been a valued partner of local law enforcement agencies, resulting in over 6,500 arrests, more than $11,000,000 in recovered stolen property and more than $42,000,000 in illegal drugs seized off the streets and authorized over a million dollars in reward payouts since its inception in 1985. In short, the program works but only if the Community, the Media and the Police work together.

Windsor & Essex County Crime Stoppers, Inc. started operating on the founding principal of being a charitable, civilian organization that encourages members of the community to provide anonymous information to assist police and other authorities to solve crime. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, Crime Stoppers has been an integral force in the community by providing a safe, secure way for citizens to anonymously report information they may have otherwise kept to themselves. Should information provided help solve a crime tipsters may qualify for a reward.

Cash rewards are offered for information leading to indictment or arrests.  Tips can be provided by telephone 519-258-8477 or through an online web system at www.catchcrooks.com.

Mayor Tom Bain along with Constable Jim Root of the OPP and Crime Stoppers Board Member Julia Kelly-Dion were on hand for the ceremony.
