Are you passionate about making your community safer? Do you want to use your skills and experience to support a respected local charity? Windsor & Essex County Crime Stoppers is seeking community-minded individuals to join its volunteer Board of Directors.
As a Board member, you will help guide the organization's strategic direction, support fundraising initiatives, ensure responsible financial oversight, and advance Crime Stoppers' mission of reducing crime through anonymous tips, education, and community partnerships.
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals who are:
Passionate about community safety and the mission of Crime Stoppers
Committed to ethical leadership and good governance
Interested in giving back through volunteer service
Able to bring diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences
We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in:
Corporate governance
Organizational development
Fundraising
Government relations
Entrepreneurship
Donor and community relations
Finance, law, marketing, communications, or non-profit leadership
Board Member Responsibilities
As a volunteer Board member, you will:
Attend regular Board meetings
Serve on at least one Board committee
Provide strategic and financial oversight
Support fundraising and community engagement activities
Act as an ambassador for Windsor & Essex County Crime Stoppers
Help ensure the organization operates ethically, responsibly, and transparently
Time Commitment
Board members are asked to commit to:
A three-year term
Approximately 50–100 volunteer hours per year
Attendance at regular Board meetings
Participation in at least two fundraising events annually
