Distraction Theft Tecumseh
The Tecumseh Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is looking for suspects following a distraction theft on the 29th of April 2025 at a retail business parking lot on Manning Road in the Town of Tecumseh.
Shortly before noon, an elderly shopper who was approaching her parked car when a male suspect told her that she had a mechanical issue underneath her car.
While distracted by the conversation, the shopper’s wallet was pickpocketed from her purse.
Once the shopper arrived home, she realized she was the victim of a pickpocket theft as thousands of dollars were withdrawn from her bank account.
The male suspect was described as a 5’11”, white slender build, with grey hair, narrow mustache, spoke in a European accent wearing a black jacket and vest.
A female suspect was described as 5’4”, white slender build, with a blue ball cap, a surgical mask covering her face, glasses, blue pants and white sneakers.

Crime Prevention Tips:
If you are wearing expensive jewellry, ensure that it is properly affixed and not easily removed.
If possible, conceal your jewellery under clothing.
Be wary of strangers who do not respect your personal space or touch you in any way.
Walk with a friend whenever possible.
Be aware of who is around you and report any suspicious or criminal incident immediately to the Police or anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
