Windsor and Essex County Humane Society is seeking information about the identity of the owner of this cat that was located in the Town of Essex January 9. She was in extremely poor condition when she was found. She is described as orange and white and approximately 18 pounds which is over weight. She is spayed and declawed. She is being cared for by veterinarians who are hopeful about her recovery. She has been named “Elsa” by the staff but is not available adoption yet.

Windsor Police Investigating Armed Robbery

On Tuesday November 27, 2018 at approximately 10:00 pm patrol officers responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at a business located in the 8100 block of Tecumseh Road East. 

Officers arrived within minutes and learned that two suspects had entered the business wearing ski masks and that one suspect was carrying a suspected firearm. 

The armed suspect demanded money and concealed it in a satchel-style bag. There were no reported injuries.

Investigation revealed that two suspects were last seen fleeing the area on foot toward the rear of the business.

  • male white

  • approximately 5'11 with an average build

  • face concealed with a black ski mask

  • wearing a red and grey plaid shirt with black hooded sweater underneath the plaid shirt

  • carrying a silver "pistol style" suspected firearm

Suspect #2 is described as: 

  • male white

  • approximately 5'11

  • wearing a black and white plaid shirt with orange hooded sweater underneath

  • dark blue jeans

Essex County OPP Are Asking For Help to Identify this Male and Locate the Stolen Vehicle

A black Volvo S60 with licence plate # CBNY808 was stolen from the area of County Rd 23 & County Rd 50 on September 13th.

Windsor Police Release Pictures of Suspect in Convenience Store Robbery

On Saturday September 22, 2018 at approximately 5:15 am, a male entered a convenience store in the 1800 block of Drouillard Road with his identity concealed with clothing and approached the employee behind the front counter.  The suspect struck the employee with what the victim believed to be a handgun or replica and demanded cash.  He ran out of the store with a quantity of money.

Suspect Description:

Male, white, 5'8, slender build, wearing a black hoody with a white logo on the front, baggy light grey jogging pants, black gloves with white lined pattern and white Puma shoes.

Break in at Windsor Central Little League

A break in occurred Wednesday, May 16th in the 1000 block of Ypres Avenue at The Windsor Central Little League concession trailer. The trailer is located in the Optimist Community Park lot and is used to store equipment and fundraising items. The door to the trailer was found forced open and a number of items removed.

The organization, which is run by volunteers, does fundraising to help keep the cost down for its members. The sporting equipment and fundraising items reported stolen are essential to the organization.
