Police seek help identifying theft suspect

The Windsor Police Service is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect following two separate thefts of a Pride flag at the same residence.

On May 2, 2025, officers received a report of theft at a residence in the 200 block of Moy Avenue. Through investigation, officers learned that an unknown male approached the front porch and ripped down the home’s Pride flag, breaking the flagpole in the process. On June 13, 2025, a similar occurrence took place at the same residence, resulting in a second flag being stolen.

The suspect in the May 2 incident is described as a Middle Eastern male with black afro-style hair and a short black beard and moustache. At the time of the incident, he wore a grey hoodie and black track pants with white stripes.

Investigators ask residents and business owners in the area to check their surveillance or dashcam footage from May 2 and June 13, 2025, between 8 - 10 p.m., for evidence that may assist with the investigation.

Lasalle Theft

Early on the morning of June 14h 2025, shortly before 7 a.m., LaSalle Police Service received a report of a stolen e-bike from the 1600 block of Normandy Street. The suspect was viewed on video surveillance exiting a newer model black Dodge Durango before stealing the e-bike, and fleeing the area. Anyone with information that can assist in identifying the suspect or involved vehicle is asked to contact Cst. Windsor Police Service seek two suspects in string of retail thefts

The Windsor Police Service is seeking two suspects in a series of retail thefts involving more than $7,500 worth of merchandise.

On May 24, 2025, the suspects targeted two separate pharmacies, stealing approximately $6,800 worth of cosmetics. Additionally, the suspects targeted a third local retailer, stealing approximately $720 worth of merchandise.

In all three incidents, the individuals selected a large quantity of items and exited the stores without making any attempt to pay.

The first suspect is described as a Middle Eastern female, approximately 5’6" tall, who was wearing a hijab at the time of the incidents.

The second suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male, approximately 5’11" tall with a large build and short black hair.

The two suspects are wanted on charges of theft under $5,000.

Suspect sought for $130,00 fraud

The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect involved in a large-scale financial fraud.

On May 1, 2025, the suspect entered a currency exchange in the 3200 block of Dougall Avenue and used a fraudulent Canadian passport to obtain $130,000 in U.S currency.

The suspect is described as a white female, approximately 35 to 45 years old, with a medium build and long brown hair. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, grey pants, and black running shoes.

The suspect is wanted on five charges, including fraud over $5,000, uttering a forged passport, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Distraction Theft Tecumseh

The Tecumseh Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is looking for suspects following a distraction theft on the 29th of April 2025 at a retail business parking lot on Manning Road in the Town of Tecumseh.

Shortly before noon, an elderly shopper who was approaching her parked car when a male suspect told her that she had a mechanical issue underneath her car.

While distracted by the conversation, the shopper’s wallet was pickpocketed from her purse. 

Once the shopper arrived home, she realized she was the victim of a pickpocket theft as thousands of dollars were withdrawn from her bank account.

The male suspect was described as a 5’11”, white slender build, with grey hair, narrow mustache, spoke in a European accent wearing a black jacket and vest.

A female suspect was described as 5’4”, white slender build, with a blue ball cap, a surgical mask covering her face, glasses, blue pants and white sneakers.

Crime Prevention Tips:

  • If you are wearing expensive jewellry, ensure that it is properly affixed and not easily removed.

  • If possible, conceal your jewellery under clothing.

  • Be wary of strangers who do not respect your personal space or touch you in any way.

  • Walk with a friend whenever possible.

  • Be aware of who is around you and report any suspicious or criminal incident immediately to the Police or anonymously to Crime Stoppers.

Tecumseh Armed Robbery

The Essex County OPP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying  the suspect  wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday May 4th at 11:38 p.m. at a retail business in the 12000 block of Tecumseh Road East in the Town of Tecumseh.

 The suspect brandished a knife at an employee while stealing currency and store merchandise.

 The suspect is described as a 6 foot tall, 200 lbs white male wearing a black mask and a black hoodie depicting a grey “Zoo York” logo.

FIVE SUSPECTS SOUGHT FOLLOWING WEEKEND STABBING

The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance identifying five suspects wanted in connection with a weekend stabbing.

Shortly after 3 a.m. on April 27, 2025, officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 900 block of Hall Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a 48-year-old man suffering from serious injuries.

Through investigation, officers learned that two suspects had entered a convenience store in the 900 block of Wyandotte Street East and stole items before fleeing. The victim, a patron at the store, followed the suspects outside and confronted them. He was subsequently beaten and stabbed.

Major Crimes investigators have obtained video surveillance footage showing the suspects in the area at the time of the incident. The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect 1: White male wearing a purple Playboy sweater with a white hood, black pants, and a white mask.

Suspect 2: Individual wearing a black hoodie and black pants, with a red bandana used as a mask.

Suspect 3: Dark-haired individual wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes.

Suspect 4: Male wearing a black, grey, or green zip-up sweater, black pants, black socks, and black slides.

Suspect 5: Black male wearing a white hoodie, grey pants, and dark shoes.

Investigators are asking businesses and residents in the area to check their surveillance and dashcam footage between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on April 27 for any evidence that may assist in the investigation.

WINDSOR POLICE SERVICE INVESTIGATING JEWELRY STORE HEIST

The Windsor Police Service Major Crimes Unit are searching for a suspect following a smash-and-grab robbery at a mall jewelry store.

 Shortly after 5 p.m. on Friday the 4th of April, 2025, officers responded to a robbery at a jewelry store located inside a mall in the 7600 block of Tecumseh Road East.

A 6’ tall slim white male suspect wearing a face covering entered the store, used a weapon to smash a glass showcase, and stole an estimated $50,000 worth of jewelry. The suspect then ran to a black GMC Sierra in the parking lot and fled the area prior to police arrival.

 The store employees did not sustain any physical injuries.

 At the time of the robbery, the suspect wore a blue scarf over his face, a black baseball cap, a black hooded sweater, orange and black gloves, black jeans, and white and black sneakers.

 The getaway vehicle is described as a black GMC Sierra with chrome accents, chrome five-spoke wheels, and a Z71 decal on its bed.

POLICE RENEW PLEA FOR TIPS ON 30th ANNIVERSARY OF UNSOLVED MURDER

February 14th marked the 30th anniversary of the brutal unsolved murder of Diane Dobson.

Ms. Dobson, a 36-year-old mother of three, was last seen walking down Prince Road around 5:45 p.m. on February 14, 1995. The next day, her battered body was found in a ditch at Windsor’s Brighton Beach. A preliminary investigation revealed that Ms. Dobson was violently murdered, with a blow to the head as the official cause of death.

Investigators are hopeful that developments in DNA technology may assist in solving this case.
